Katie Hourigan

Katie has been riding since the age of 5. Getting her first pony – a jumper – at age 8 led Katie to have a passion for the jumper ring. Throughout her teenage years, Katie’s focus was on starting young horses off the track and bringing them to the hunter/jumper ring.

She was fortunate enough to spend 3 years training & competing with World Cup Champion and US Olympian Rich Fellers. Purchasing several horses with Rich and competing up to the 1.30m ring gave Katie invaluable experience. His program focused on flatwork for jumpers, which is very apparent in Katie’s horses and riders.

Katie has successfully competed up to the 1.40 ring, and travels to venues such as Spruce Meadows, Thunderbird Show Park and Thermal Desert Show Park, competing on her horses and coaching her students. By bringing along young horses, Katie continues her education with the belief that there is always room for improvement.
